As the name suggests, our general management programme is designed to equip people with a complete range of management capabilities they can apply anywhere across British Airways. The reason is simple, the speed at which our business moves means our needs can change from year to year. We are constantly being faced with new challenges, sometimes they strike at the very core of how we run our business. We therefore need intelligent people with the enthusiasm, drive and flexibility to learn about our business so they can adapt to change as challenges arise.
The programme is a maximum of 3 years in length, this includes an induction and three placements. On joining the company you will work with your Graduate Development Manager to create a development plan tailored to your specific development needs. You will have a placement line manager to support you in each of your placements and a mentor out in the business to support you throughout your programme and beyond! Placements will be matched to your development needs and designed to give you the opportunity to maximise your potential and develop your skills and capabilities to the full. At the very least you can expect to deliver customer service in a front line role, bring revenue into the company and develop your business awareness, change management and people management skills. All of your placements will be real jobs with real responsibility and accountability. Some placements may include the need for travel, work overseas or shift work. |
